Ms. HANNAH

sTUDIO oWNER & hEAD iNSTRUCTOR

Ms. Hannah’s passion for dance started at the tender age of 3. Her parents knew they had a dancer on their hands when they couldn’t get her to stop walking on her tiptoes!

HISTORY | After training and working under Ms. Nina Esslinger (of Ms. Nina’s Dance Center) for over 15 years in Waverly, Ms. Hannah had originally planned to hang up her dancing shoes in order to pursue a degree in physical therapy (in combination with fitness training and nutrition) while marrying high school sweetheart, Cody Tucker in 2015.

Her drive, passion, and love for dance, training, coaching, and teaching, however, couldn’t be ignored when the opportunity to open Express Dance and Fitness came to be in June of 2015 (just a few months before marrying that high school sweetheart in November 2015 😉)!

PRESENT DAY | Now armed with over 4 reputable fitness and personal training certifications (currently working on her 5th – August 2025), years of assistant coaching/training experience, and award-winning choreography for multiple competitions and levels under her belt; Ms. Hannah is able to combine her love of dance, fitness training, coaching, and education to better serve the Cedar Valley communities in quality dance education and training for dancers and fitness-pursuers alike. Focusing on proper body alignment, musculature, and strength – combined with appropriate and strategic conditioning and a strict technical approach to aid in injury prevention and healthy training (both long-term AND short-term) are Ms. Hannah’s top priorities and main intention while training dancers and athletes.

“I feel that as dance educators, we are gifted this incredibly important responsibility and opportunity to not only teach our young athletes the overall joy of movement and self-expression, but also how to properly, safely, and effectively train their bodies (and minds), too! So often the dance world can become so wrapped up in MORE THIS, MORE THAT, and nailing the next, biggest, and best skill(s) – where these goals and achievements are important and can help motivate and gauge our progress – we forget that these are still CHILDREN – who are still developing, who might go on to play other sports, who might grow up to become parents later, etc – and I don’t want these young athletes to have to suffer long-term due to [overuse] injuries that could have been prevented simply with proper dance training and education. I feel that this is so important to note when looking into a child’s dance education!”
